HDM Opens the Doors to the
Health Care Innovation Center
VIRTUAL HOSPITAL
Health Data Management has launched the Health Care Innovation Center, HealthcareInnovation- HQ.com, a virtual health
care facility that enables clinical, I.T. and
other leaders to explore various departments
of a modern hospital. Visitors navigate the
facility by using a 3D ;oor plan and dive
deeper into “room views” of
health care departments.
Registered HDM site users can use their existing ID
and password to log into the
innovation center.
“Hospitals are making
great strides in developing
cohesive, enterprise I.T.
strategies to manage patients along the care continuum, but to understand
the whole, you have to
examine the pieces,” says
Greg Gillespie, Editor-in-Chief at Health Data Management. “Our Health Care
Innovation Center provides a wealth of information about those
pieces and helps educate health technology professionals about
their unique issues and needs, which will help them make better
I. T. purchasing and strategic planning decisions for speci;c departments and the enterprise as a whole.”
At the department level, such as surgery, radiology, emergency
and administration, the view changes to provide an interactive, fully
equipped room for visitors to explore. Content such as news, case
studies, research, expert analysis, educational videos and instruc-
tional slideshows will be updated steadily and promoted through
a twice-weekly newsletter. A community tab also enables users to
launch forum discussions or comment on existing topics.
The innovation center includes content on the various departments found within the typical accute care hospital. The content spans news, case studies and educational videos. In addtion, readers can participate in discus- sion forums.
